WBCR Special Report: Interview with Professor James Davis

We have an exclusive interview with Brooklyn College English Professor James Davis, Graduate Deputy of the English Department and chairman of the Brooklyn College chapter of Professional Staff Congress (PSC), a union that represents CUNY faculty, and by the means of inference, the interests of the institution’s students as well.

In our conversation, we’ll mainly discuss the views of CUNY, faculty, and students on tuition increases. We’ll also discuss the latest on the PSC’s efforts to finally getting a decent labor contract for CUNY faculty, as they’ve been working without a contract or a pay-raise for the last six years. Finally, during the very last part of the dialogue, you’ll find out why the PSC is in total opposition to Pathways, which is the core curriculum initiative that has taken effect throughout all of CUNY’s schools since Fall 2013. This is an interview that all CUNY students, especially Brooklyn College students, cannot miss.
