In world news, North Korea is upping the ante with the international community, but this time, its aggressions can be visible in cyberspace.

In national news, the Federal Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit overturned a ruling which initially stated that Microsoft must hand over information to prosecutors from a data server over a drug-trafficking investigation. The prosecutors are fighting back by now appealing to the U.S. Supreme Court.

And in local news, an audit in May by the New York State Comptroller is questioning the reporting of rates for New York City homeless shelters.
