In world news, the USS Mason fires two cruise missiles near the coast of Yemen in response to it being targeted by just as many incoming cruise missiles from the opposite direction; and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry will meet with foreign nations in Switzerland on Saturday to hopefully revive another peace deal for Syria.
In national news, the Justice Department recognizes and criticizes the ongoing bias against African-Americans from within the San Francisco police department; and a new report says that there were more arrests for small possessions of marijuana last year than arrests made for murders and sexual assaults, and once again, African-Americans are mostly treated as the culprits of all this.
In local news, new emails leaked to the public by Wikileaks reveal that New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio had an active involvement in helping Hillary Clinton win the Democratic Party’s nomination for President.
And in sports, the New York Giants held a special discussion on race relations with players and special guests in its training complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
