New Campus Club Helps Students Improve Video Producing Skills

By Eleana Donaldson

Students who are interested in TV production have a new resource on campus, the TV club.

The TV club is looking for students who are interested in producing video content. There are plenty of opportunities for students to expand their skill set and exercise the skills they already have from writing and directing to audio and camera work.

The club hosts most of their meetings and video shoots Tuesdays during common hours. It’s five eboard members are; President Mike Mannino, Vice President Arielle Guiteau, Secretary Náosha Gregg, Treasurer Jason Lam, and Promotions Director Sammie King.

“I think it’s super important to have a club like this on campus because A. we don’t have anything like this… and B. it gives students a way to get their work out with a team,” Guiteau said.

The club conducted their first video shoot with WBCR producer, Alizé Rashamel, a three camera set-up interview with a Brooklyn based rapper destheproblem.

Currently, the TV club is mostly doing work with other clubs and faculty members to help them create videos and promotional material for their projects.

In regard to the future of the club Guiteau states, “I think we could also do more interactive type material with students so we can become more whole together instead of being so separate… I would like to maybe go into more small, short stories… little segments too like BuzzFeed style stuff. Just things that make people laugh and bring  ideas together. “

“We have the support of the [TVRA] department and everybody in the radio station,” said Guiteau. “I’m really happy with the EBoard we have, I feel like this is a good team and a good start and that we’re going to be something very big very soon.”
