*ATTENTION: This announcement is for student members of Brooklyn College Radio (WBCR) ONLY.
To all WBCR members,
It’s Richard Ngo, your News Director. It’s unfortunate to announce that all of the special editions of WBCR News that were initially dedicated to the 2nd annual Candidates’ Forum will be cancelled. This is because that too few candidates participating in the upcoming 2018-19 E-Board elections had enough on-time availability to join me in these broadcasts.
Therefore, this year’s Candidates’ Forum will work a bit differently. Each and every one of this year’s candidates will make YouTube videos (that I will then post onto this website) to introduce themselves to all of you. They will explain why they’re running for the positions they chose, how their upcoming job duties and responsibilities mean so much to them, and what they will do on our next E-Board to make this station and the community we serve better at their work and in their place in a student media organization.
Since WBCR student members will be the only people eligible to vote, these videos will help them better understand who they’re voting for, and they will help us decide who deserves to be the next generation of leaders in this station. These videos, and the candidates’ official candidacy proposals, will soon be posted onto this website. I’m working with my colleagues on the current E-Board right now to help make this possible, because the people that deserve better are our members.
I’ll be back a week from now (Monday, April 9) to broadcast another regular edition of WBCR News as this station’s main news anchor. But until then, I wish all of you a good and restful Spring Break.
Sincerely,
Richard Ngo
WBCR News Director
