In world news, officials in the Departments of State and Defense oppose the inclusion of the African nation of Chad in President Trump’s newest travel ban, effective on Wednesday, October 18, 2017.

In national news, the Republicans’ latest plan to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act (a.k.a. “Obamacare”) has failed yet again after the vocal opposition of two Senators of their own. All they can do for now is set their sights on tax reform; and President Trump will only accept 45,000 refugees into the United States in 2018, but if he had listened to the ranks of his Oval Office staff, that number would’ve been set far lower.

And in local news, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio’s “Renewal Schools Program” is under scrutiny for producing overwhelming results in our¬†education system.
