In national news, for the third week in a row now, another incident of mass violence must be reported, but this time, the target of the violence was Northern California; and Senate Republicans made another bold move in its attempts to pass tax reform.

And in local news, New York City’s new Corrections Commissioner is once again in hot water because of ethics violations; and the local Housing Authority is guilty of filing false paperwork that hid one painful truth: inspectors haven’t inspected apartments for lead paint.
