In local news, a vehicle attack in Lower Manhattan killed eight people and wounded at least 11 0thers yesterday afternoon. This is now the deadliest terror attack to hit New York City since 9/11.

In world news, Catalonia’s deposed leader went to the “capital of Europe” (Brussels, Belgium) to plea for the European Union’s help in recognizing and defending Catalonia’s independence.

And in national news, the 2018 open enrollment period for the Affordable Care Act opens today, but many Americans don’t know how to sign up for health insurance this year; and the Congressional Budget Office says that it would take $1.2 trillion and 30 years to fully upgrade America’s nuclear arsenal.
