In national news, American children are on the verge of losing access to quality health care as long as Congress doesn’t act; 64 year old Stephen Paddock killed 58 people and wounded over 500 others in Las Vegas on Sunday night. This is now the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S history.

In local news, New York City mayor Bill de Blasio appointed an interim Corrections Commissioner; and mourners paid respect to victims of the Las Vegas shooting and other incidents of gun violence in New York these past few days.
