If you’ve never heard of Dashboard Confessional then you probably weren’t big on the emo music scene in the early-mid 2000’s. Last Saturday I saw them perform at Irving Plaza and they put on a show I will never forget! Mostly playing decade old hits that the entire audience sang/screamed with the lead singer, Chris Carrabba. They also played a few newer songs that sounded great and got me excited for possibly a new EP or album to come out. Anyone in their mid-twenties and early thirties were channeling their teenage and college years last night. I was no exception. This band left an important mark on my younger years and it was good to hear and embrace their music once again.
If you wanted to get into their music, I recommend starting from the very beginning. Listen to EPs and studio albums like So Impossible and Swiss Army Romance (my all time favorite) to get a feel of their more acoustic stuff and then see how they progress, especially into their album A Mark, a Mission, a Brand, a Scar. Enjoy getting in the feels!
